Castlereagh Hills Hosts Under 18 Boys’ Inter-Club Tournament
July 28, 2026Castlereagh Hills Golf Course recently hosted the prestigious Golf Ireland Ulster Under 18 Boys' Inter-Club Tournament. The two-day competition welcomed 40 teams from golf clubs across Northern Ireland on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st July.
The event saw some of Ulster's most promising young golfers battle it out for a place in the National Finals on 18 August. Bangor Golf Club claimed the Ulster South title, while Cliftonville Golf Club emerged victorious in the Ulster North Section.
It was also a milestone for Castlereagh Hills Golf Course, with the club entering a team in the competition for the first time. The team finished 21st in the Ulster South Section.
Councillor Sharon Lowry, Chair of the Communities and Wellbeing Committee, said, “It was great to see so many talented young golfers taking part in the competition. Touranaments like today gives players the opportunity to represent their club and meet others who share the same passion for golf.
It was also fantastic to see Castlereagh Hills Golf Club represented in the competition for the very first time. I hope the experience is the start of many more appearances in the years ahead.
I would like to thank Golf Ireland for organising the event and wish both Bangor Golf Club and Cliftonville Golf Club every success as they progress to the next stage of the competition.”
