PGA Professional Wesley Ramsay

We are pleased to welcome PGA Golf Professional, Wesley Ramsay to Castlereagh Hills Golf Course and Aberdelghy Golf Course to share his wealth of golfing knowledge and expert coaching.

PGA Golf Professional, Wesley Ramsay said, "I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the members of Castlereagh Hills Golf Course and Aberdelghy Golf Club and also everyone in the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Area. My passion for golf started in Donegal. I moved to Belfast in late 80s and was assistant to Maurice Kelly at Belvoir Park Golf Club . Once I qualified as a PGA Professional, I moved to San Diego and continued my teaching there for a couple of years . I came back to Northern Ireland and have been fortunate to have had many roles at prestigious golf courses around the country.  I returned to Belvoir Park Golf Club for a further 5 years and then became the Teaching Pro at Ballyearl Golf Club.  Another 3 years passed and an opportunity to join Balmoral Golf Club came up and I joined as Teaching Pro . Following 3 years there, I became Head Teaching Pro at Newforge Lane Golf Centre. I then went on to Knockbracken Golf Academy where I was Head Teaching Pro until 2022 . I  continue to teach at Laganview Driving Range and I am delighted to be the PGA Golf Professional for Castlereagh Hills and Aberdelghy Golf Courses.

I enjoy playing golf myself but I don’t get much time to practice nowadays. Outside of golf, I support Manchester United and during the winter I play hockey for Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) . I enjoy teaching golfers of all abilities."
