Coffee Morning for Chest Heart & Stroke NI

February 22, 2024

Castlereagh Hills hosted a coffee morning on Tuesday 20th February, in support of the joint clubs charity partner, Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke. Special guests included, Lady Mary Peters and Councillor John Gallen, Vice Chair of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Communities & Wellbeing Committee.

Attendees had the privilege of hearing Lady Mary Peters share her inspiring journey, recounting her open-heart surgery experience made possible by the invaluable support of the Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke. Additionally, Lady Peters discussed her book, ‘My Story’, a poignant reflection on her remarkable life, highlighting her historic Olympic Gold Medal win in the Women’s Pentathlon in 1972. Guests also had the opportunity to have copies of their books personally signed by Lady Mary Peters.

A grand total of £3,000 was raised for the Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke charity.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in making the event a massive success!

Special thanks to The Hills Bar & Restaurant for providing tea, coffee, and delightful treats.
