Golfers celebrate Tommy Sloan’s President’s Day at Castlereagh Hills

The annual competition brought members and visitors together for a great day of golf, followed by a meal at the Hills Bar & Restaurant, where golfers enjoyed an evening of entertainment and an eagerly awaited prize presentation.

Rodney Campbell claimed the overall title with an impressive 43 points. His score saw him finish at the top of the leaderboard following a strong performance on the course.

In the ladies’ section, Maria Murphy took first place with a fantastic 34 points.

Brian Craig was also crowned winner of the five-day competition, finishing with a solid 36 points.

Prizes were presented by the Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, Councillor Brian Higginson, who joined golfers to celebrate the occasion.

Mayor Councillor Brian Higginson said: “It was a pleasure to join the members of Castlereagh Hills Golf Course for Tommy Sloan’s President’s Day. Events like this are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the club, recognise the achievements of its members and enjoy the strong sense of community that golf brings.

I would like to thank Tommy, the committee members and everyone at Hills Bar & Restaurant for all their hard work in organising such a successful day. A lot of time and preparation goes into making events like this happen and it was great to see that hard work rewarded with a fantastic day of golf and an enjoyable evening.

Congratulations to all of the winners and to everyone who took part. I hope everyone enjoyed a fantastic day on the course and a memorable evening of celebrations.”
